The projects presented on this page represent highly collaborative efforts between urban planners and transportation engineers, aimed at visually narrating data that would be challenging to comprehend without a strong visual storytelling approach.
Below is an infographic depicting summer holiday traffic impacts on Interstate 90 through Cle Elum, WA. Increased holiday traffic leads to backups on I-90, prompting drivers to divert onto county roads, resulting in local congestion and travel difficulties for residents.

Our team evaluated the commute implications of relocating Amazon employees from the South Lake Union (SLU) office to the Bellevue office. To understand how feasible transit commuting is for employees, we analyzed how it would look like if all employees relocated.
The results? Commuting by transit to SLU is feasible for more employees: 68% of them can reach the SLU office by transit within 55 minutes, vs. 28% for Bellevue. The average transit commute time is 35 minutes to SLU vs. 50 minutes to Bellevue.
Walking and biking are also less viable commute modes for Bellevue than for SLU. Bellevue's relative lack of commute options will make driving to work an attractive option for employees who currently take transit, bike, or walk to work at SLU.
