As an illustrator, my artistry combines technical skills with the ability to abstract real-world objects into a style that aligns with the project's creative vision. The examples below showcase my ability to create illustrations of familiar objects through my creative lens.
Below is a piece titled "A Night Out At R Place," which portrays a dance club I frequented throughout my 20s. R Place welcomed me for who I was but never hesitated to kick me out when I had one too many drinks. Although I eventually moved on from its Top 40 hits and explored other corners of Seattle's queer scene, R Place played a significant role in my journey of coming out as a proud gay Asian-American at a time when it wasn’t easy, and I didn’t know where else to go. The bar closed in 2021 after 25 years in the 'Teal Building,' due to complications arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Illustration: Seattle Transit Vehicles
My love for transit and my hometown of Seattle is what inspired me to design this illustration depicting some of the transit vehicles operating in this city.

Illustration: Bay Area
I designed illustrations depicting the San Francisco Bay Area for BART, featuring two different perspectives. The first one, pictured below, captures the view from the Golden Gate Bridge looking south:

The second version (below, left), features the view looking north from South San Francisco.
